Gun Violence Prevention

ISNA has joined with the Muslim Youth of North America (MYNA) to partner with the Reform Action Center (RAC) and The North American Federation of Temple Youth (NFTY) to spearhead Muslim-Jewish advocacy trainings and actions on gun legislation at the state and federal level.

This fall 2018, MYNA is working with NFTY to create Muslim-Jewish Regional Teams to build partnerships, train members on how to advocate, and hold lobby meetings with their elected officials in cities across the country.

In March of 2018, our office co-facilitated a gun violence prevention advocacy training with the Friends Committee on National Legislation as part of the historic March for Our Lives. We also participated in the March alongside Muslim community members from across the country.

During the March For Our Lives: Luqman Sabour, a Muslim community leader with Bridges DC and gun violence survivor, offered a powerful testimony of strength and hope to an interfaith crowd gathered in front of the building where IOICA offices are located, directly adjacent to the Supreme Court and across the street from the Capitol.
